From Here to Care Community Initiative
Because everyone deserves to travel safely.
At VirtualTravelClinic.ca, we believe no one should miss out on safe, informed travel because of financial barriers. That’s why we created the From Here to Care Community Initiative: a program that helps ensure all Canadians can still access expert travel health guidance. Through this initiative, eligible applicants may receive free or discounted consultations to support safe, informed journeys.
Our Mission
To increase access to travel health services by providing free or discounted consultations to Canadians experiencing financial hardship.
Who’s Eligible?
You may qualify for support through From Here to Care Community Initiative if:
- You’re a Canadian resident
- You’re travelling in the next 3 months
- You’re facing financial hardship, such as:
- Low household income
- Receiving government benefits (e.g., ODSP, OW, EI)
- Being a full-time student with limited income
- You’re travelling for:
- A family emergency (e.g., illness, death)
- A volunteer or humanitarian trip
- Another valid, time-sensitive reason
How It Works

Tell us about your trip, your financial situation, and why you’re applying.

Our team will carefully review your application using clear eligibility criteria. We assess factors like financial need, purpose of travel, and timing. All applications and information is kept confidential. - Receive your award status
Within 2 business days, you’ll receive an email with:- Your discount details (0%–100%)
- A one-time code and how to use it
- Instructions for booking
- Book your appointment

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! If you’ve already booked, you can still submit an application. If approved, we’ll issue a refund matching the awarded discount.
Unfortunately, no. At this time, appointments booked through this initiative are non-cancellable and non-reschedulable.
You’re welcome to reapply six months after your original application.
If you can’t provide documents, you can self-declare financial hardship in the form.
Absolutely. All information is reviewed in confidence and used only to assess eligibility.
